Hello!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Tessa Otero and I am interning at Maricopa County Human Resources through the MCLEAPS Internship program. The program is a new partnership between ASU and Maricopa County and I am one of the first students to take part in this program. I will be graduating in May and I am very excited. I am Treasurer for TRIO Devils at ASU Downtown, a student organization, and policy team member for Undergraduate Student Government Downtown (USGD). I hope to make this school year count and I'm very happy and honored to be interning at Maricopa County.

The three goals I hope to achieve through my internship are:
1) To gain a better understanding of how county government functions and the various services it provides to the public.
2) Learn the various functions of human resources in a large organization.
3) I would like to shadow a deputy county manager and gain better insight about their role in the organization.

  2. Hi Tessa, I am so interested your internship because I also was accepted to the MCLEAPS program but I had already accepted my current internship. Hopefully the program is as cool as I though it was going to be. Hopefully your internship is going well and I can't wait to hear more about it!

  3. I hope its not too much pressure, but your blog on how county government goes for you is something I'll be keeping a close eye on as I have little prior insight into county operations and it is something I am interested in. Thanks for sharing.
